Koltec was founded in 1942 by Mr. Lout Henkes. After the foundation the company quite rapidly started with the production of electric fencers. Koltec, as sole Dutch manufacturer, made electric fencing widely known. Everybody knows the famous, indestructible green “mushroom”. This type is still being manufactured and supplied to customers all over the world.

A few years after the death of Mr. Henkes the company was sold to the Vriens family. Under their wings the company further developed by manufacturing Liquid Gas systems for cars. This activity has also grown into market leadership in the branch. Due to lack of a successor in the company the Vriens family decided to sell the company in 2003 to TeleflexGFI Ltd, which company is strong in worldwide manufacturing and selling of alternative fuel systems. The Liquid Gas division of Koltec can grow further within TeleflexGFI. The electric fencing activities have been made independent and are carrying on as a family business.

Through the specialization in electric fencing systems and developing and manufacturing these systems on its own, Koltec is fast, flexible and has skilled employees at its disposal in this line of work.

Koltec BV is the only Dutch manufacturer of electric fencers and accessories. With more than 60 years specialised experience and the production of the necessary parts, we are able to manufacture reliable products.
